Diamond Jubilee of our beloved Nirmala Mata Institute! We are truly grateful to Almighty Lord for this marvelous achievement. It’s our privilege here at this proud moment to go down the memory lane.

Our Canossian sisters who initiated this heavenly institution at Manickpur in June 1962, had a great trust and faith in God by accepting the new challenge. They entered this premises to participate and collaborate with God’s plan.
Our big heartfelt thanks to Fr. Nubilola SJ for his vision and personal direction together with M. Pasiquina, Azura, Rosa, Sr. Simplicia,, M. Bernice, Sr. Bertha, Sr. Cecilia, late Sr. Ursula, M. Ita, to name a few.

We remember with gratitude M. Maria Tambellini for her enthusiastic magical push from the beginning with a steady group of sisters Ita, Nita, Monica, Teresa, Maggie M, Mary K. and the late Sisters Ursula and Placida. and so many more who worked as Superiors and Principals and on the teaching staff too. How we miss some of them today personally, though at heart, we vibrate in the same chorus of joyous thanks.

Our early days were exciting and difficult but our sisters were full of enthusiasm and commitment to start and go ahead with the Marathi medium Girls’ High school in this area. At that time this campus was without a wall full of huge grass and thorny plants and also infested with snakes. Undoubtedly it was a Paradise in the making Providence never failed us. Strong was the Lord’s conventional and bountiful love for us. All Sisters walking hand in hand with Jesuit priests, a team of loyal and competent lay persons of the place and the band of hardworking staff worked miracles.

In 1967 Nirmala Mata Girls’ School gained Govt. recognition. We spared no pains to build our children in values, discipline and love for God’s creation.
Great Care was taken to animate teachers and students. It was the victorious year when in 1968 our very First batch of SSC passed out. What a joy to note that Nirmala Mata has gifted many Vocations to the religious life not only to us but to many other congregations.

In 1970 we began govt. recognized tailoring classes. It was a bold step towards women empowerment. “School has grown with the past student well settled in well placed jobs where Values caught at N.M have stood them well. The steady growth at N.M. with the English medium section and now with CBSE School makes us – proud and deeply grateful for our small and persevering beginnings. We are indeed proud of our present sisters who are doing So much for the betterment of our poor students carrying the mission of St. Magdalene ably and generously.

It is our Joy to share you our foundress St. Magdalene’s 250th Birth Anniversary this year. 1st March 2023 – 1st March 2024. It’s a milestone of the mission of our whole Canossian Family. We thank God for NIRMALA MATA Our Beloved Mother. May she intercede for us all to grow always in God’s great love
